While only a few miles south of bustling center city, Eastover is a secluded, tranquil neighborhood with a lot of history. Eastover is located southeast of Uptown along the border of Myers Park. Developed in 1927 by Charlotte’s E.C Griffith Company, Eastover is a small community comprised almost entirely of single-family dwellings, with very little commercial development. Residents of Eastover enjoy the rolling hills that give way to beautiful views of the Charlotte skyline. Homes along Cherokee Road- the neighborhoods main thoroughfare- are impressive to say the least, dominated by classic red-brick Georgian Colonial Revival, with a few interspersed Tudor Revivals. The neighborhood is characterized by vast oak trees and curving driveways leading up to the stately homes, like masterpieces that can be found in the Mint Museum of Art, one of the city’s most prized cultural attractions.
